The Telkom Digital Gaming League (DGL) is the ultimate proving ground for gamers looking to explore the growing world of eSports.
In the 2017 DGL, teams will compete with the goal to qualify for the DGL LAN Championships. To do so, teams must make their way up the rankings and into the First Division or Premier Division.
In order to qualify for the 2017 DGL LAN Championships, teams must work their way up through the ladder and division structure.
Ladder -> Second Division -> First Division -> Premier Division
The 2017 season is split into four parts, called "Legs". Each leg is four weeks in duration, with a week break between legs. Promotion and relegation will occur in the break between legs.
After Leg 4, the top 4 teams in the Premier Division will auto-qualify for the DGL LAN Championships.
On the 3rd of July the lower 4 teams from the Premier Division will compete against the top 4 teams from the First Division in the DGL Playoff cup, where the top 4 will qualify for the DGL LAN Championships.

Second Division (per group): Promoted: 3 | Demoted: 3
Ladder: Promoted: 6
DGL Proving Grounds
Teams must first enter the Proving Grounds, where they will battle against up tpo 128 teams in an epic battle. Those who finish in the top 8 in their respective cup (either the Genesis Proving ground or the Do-or-Die Proving Ground) will progress to the DGL Showdown.
16 teams of the best teams the league has to offer will knock eachother out. The final two will progress to the DGL Community Shield.
DGL Community Shield
The two DGL Community Shield's is the highest profile online tournaments the DGL offers. Every 2 legs, the DGL will host a Community Shield. A total of two community Shields will be held per year.
Those who qualified through the DGL Showdown will meet the 8 teams from two community run events. The top two finishers in the Community Shield will qualify for the next DGL LAN Championships!
The ladder system will allow teams to issue and accept challenges from equally skilled opponents. Completing these matches will reward teams with points as they look to climb the ladder. At the end of each leg, the teams with the most points will be promoted to a higher division.
Once a team qualifies for the Second Division, they will be granted four (4) weeks to play each of their opponents. Through victory and defeat, the goal for each team is to secure promotion to the Premier Division where they will be cheered on in search of the ultimate DGL glory.
Ladder does not follow a set schedule and challenges be played at any time.The DGL will make a snapshot of the ladder results on the final day of each leg.
